Quality Area 3: Outdoor Learning Areas
TCC’s outdoor environments have been established to reflect play based learning and place an emphasis on children as independent learners both inside and outside. They offer a vast array of learning possibilities and include native trees, plants, edible gardens, sand, rocks, mud, water and other elements such as fire pits, vegetable gardens, a chook shed, compost bins and recycling practices. The play spaces offered are open ended, encourage spontaneity, risk taking, exploration, discovery and a connection with nature. TCC values the impact outdoor play can have on a child’s growth and learning and therefore maintains these so they are at an exceeding standard at all times.
